Hi all, posted this in the other forum, sorry.
I need a bit of advice on what the pro's and con's are on the following.

Epox- EP8K7A+
ASUS-A7M266, A7A266 , A7V133 .
Gigabyte- GA7DX
Also want to use Asus Ipannel or Digidoc 5.

AMD CPU. 1.4 or 1.3 with 266fsb

HSF- WBK38, CAK38. or new Dragon orb3.

PSU- Enermax 430w or 550w
Toptower 420w "gold"

MUST be a very good overclocking board.
Will mostly be used for video editing and movies home theatre, photographic work and business applications.
Most importantly for reading THG reviews 😎

I'm currently planning on overclocking my present CPU 1g axia as high as possible for some heart in my mouth entertainment on my final choice on the above.

Ok guys give me your opinions.

Thanx in advance for your sugestions.

Hey Scotty,
If you want stability and speed go with the A7M266 and a 1.4Ghz. The price difference now for the OEM versions are only about 60.00 between a 1.1Ghz and a 1.4Ghz. You won't run into voltage setting issues and frying your processor this way and it will run much more stable than overclocking that 1.1Ghz. Or you could go with the A7V133 and a 1.33Ghz if you want overclocking potential. Should be able to get the 1.33ghz to 1.5Ghz easily with that board. The A7M266 is not a good overclocker, but runs the fastest processor and the A7V133 is a great overclocker but doesn't run the 1.4Ghz. I'm betting that Asus will continue to upgrade the A7M266 for 1.5Ghz+ as they come out and the A7V133 will not be upgraded. Stay away from that A7A266 for awhile. That new chipset still has alot of bugs. Go to www.pricewatch.com for best prices or www.newegg.com for great prices on overclockable 1.33Ghz processors and the A7V133 board. Have fun.

Crank it up... way up!! I need that power.

The A7M266 is not an o\c board.

The Epox 8k7a is a very stable board. It's also a good overclocking board with lots of settings (beware some are dipswitches to warn ya). Also considering there's a price dif between Epox and Asus, I'd choose Epox. I've heard nothing but good things about the 8k7a.
