Hello all. I am looking at 2 1070 graphics cards for my gaming system; My current system is a dual monitor setup. A 1440 monitor I game on and a 1080 I web search and watch videos on. CPU is a i5-6600k and it has 16G DDR4 RAM installed.

These are the cards I am looking at.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING Black Edition on sale for $340
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KVZBNY0/ref=psdc_284822_t1_B01HHCA1IO

or

ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 ROG STRIX OC Edition for $384 (locally after $20 rebate)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HDUVJ1I/ref=psdc_284822_t2_B01KVZBNY0

The main difference I see is the clock speed

EVGA 1,594 MHz
ASUS 1,860 MHz

The ASUS has a 15% faster clock speed, will I be able to tell the difference in the real world? Would that be worth the extra $45? Or should I just get the cheaper card?

Thanks

Evga all day , they have some of the best customer service I've ever seen. Not that you'll need to contact them . Every evga product I have is still working to this day (15 years of building). I'm currently running a 7600k paired with a evga 1070 ftw acx 2.0 , very efficient and fast . No stuttering. And my favourite part , It runs cool as an ice cube 25-30c idle full load 65c

So again evga , nothing horrible with Asus but evga is the customer service leader. Amazing long warrenties too. Fan boy much?
