Asus or gigabyte 7870

My first build is all set up, but I haven't got the graphics card yet. I'm can't decide which one to get; the hd 7870 or gtx 660. I don't want the price to be over $250. I also live in Australia so I can't use newegg. I use MSY. The Asus 7870 has better cooling (I think), but the gigabyte one is overclocked.

They are both the same price on msy, but apparently, the asus direct cu ii is supposed to be more expensive.
The gtx 660 is cheaper and slightly inferior. which one should I get; the gigabyte 7870, asus 7870 or gigabyte 660?

Hi,
I think the Msi Hawk is rated as one of the best 7870's for overclocking. The only reason you would want a decent cooler on a card is to provide room for overclocking.

Personally I faced the exact same problem you have 3 days ago. I decided to go with the 7870 as it preforms similarly but can be overclocked to 7950 levels. I also bought the Hawk 7870.

I only had 240 bucks to spend myself and bought the gigabyte version. Wish i had 40 more dollars for the hawk but i'm happy with my purchase. It's a very nice card

oh also the twin frozr 4 from what i've see sounds terrible once the fanspeed increases....but after just looking at it again on newegg. I'd say if you have that extra money get it...wish i had extra money for it now :/

definitely same card, just a different "bland" cooler....Should still overclock aswell as the hawk. Very solid card
