Guys black friday is coming and I really need help fast!

I want to buy a new gpu and I really do not know what to choose between msi or asus gtx 970.

I tend to trust more asus but I heard msi is better if we are talking about gaming.

I am not going to overclock any of them...but still...which one do you recommend?

I'd aldo like to hear opinions from guys that already own or owned one of them...or even both.

I am waiting for your answers!

Best regards!!

Actually there is a gold edition which comes with a back plate--> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127837
I've seen alot of benchmarks and in most the diff is just 1-5 fps. And if for the same price I'm getting something better I'll surely go for that.. But really...

Would't there be problems with coil whine or anything like that?

Also..is the build quiality good enaugh? I heard that for the asus strix the build quality is better. I am looking forwards for something that would last me quite a while...at least 3 years. I do not want it to break. So what do you think guys?

Best regards!

Any card can have coil whine issues not just MSI or ASUS.
And who told MSI has bad build quality and it will break? Both of them have nice build quality.

That is total BS. They are made of several parts with each part of different material not just plastic and just metals. The ASUS does have a aluminium backplate which I think may give some rigidity but that does not mean that MSI card is weak and it will break.

So...from what I see

Asus:Base core clock 1114mhz w/boost 1253mhz

Msi:1114mhz w/boost 1253mhz

So..basically if I am not going to oc them (which I am not)...they are going to be the same?

Oh..okay.but practically speaking...what is the difference between those two? I mean..i saw there are about 2 fps difference in games. Is that really something noticeable?

Also...can you give me your reasons why you would pick the msi one over the asus one?

Thanks for your help so far!

1.The MSI card performs better while keeping the card cooler than ASUS and it also overclocks higher(which I will do)
2.Aesthetically the ASUS strix was my favourite card until I saw MSI 4G I like its red and black design more than strix's owl eyes design.
3.Both have the same price.
These are the reason's why I'll choose MSI over ASUS.

It is so sad..if it had a backplate i'd defenetly go for the msi one. Still...what do you think the performance difference will be? I mean..at 1080p (cuz that's what I will game at) will there be a noticeable difference. I am more of a battlefield player...so let's say ....in the same situation, with asus will I get 70 fps and with msi 80? Is it possible...or the fps difference is not even noticeable. Also...do you consider 2-3 fps noticeable?
