Which mobo to go with for r7 9800x3d
Asus Rog strix x870-a gaming WiFi
Or
MSI mag x870 tomahawk WiFi
But keep in mind the Asus mobo has 16+2+2 power stages with 90a per stage
And the MSI has 14+2+1 power stages and 80a per stage
But the MSI has more better features considering the WiFi which is 320mhz compared to 160mhz of the Asus
And the m2 storage doesn't share lanes with the GPU and it has the beebing sound to check if something wrong with the hardware which Asus doesn't have but all IAM worried about is the power phases because on the Asus mobo it's better than MSI so will the difference in the power phases and ambs per stage will make a big difference in pushing the r7 9800x3d to its limits and getting the best performance out of it

Between those two, I'd pic the MSI board. I'd avoid Asus gear since they're usually priced higher and they have their own set of issues to deal with. Tech support being their Achilles heel, not to mention their half baked BIOS updates.

I have only had one cpu vrm fail, ASrock 990fx extreme 3. The 8350 fx cpu wa son the compatibility list .. and then it wasn’t.

MSI make good boards. If the tomahawk has the features you are looking for then go for it and don’t worry about the vrm numbers.
