I have to make a decision between Asus P4PE (intel 845PE) BP and ASUS P4G8X (E7205) and was wondering which one was the better board to get for mainly gaming, and future use.

either one would suit your needs....the granite bay is a little pricey (not to mention you have to buy two sticks of ram) and the performance difference isnt that signifigant. I just looked up the black pearl from asus and its a sweet little board...just to note that the p4pe BP doesnt come with features such as serial ata or ide raid. So if you wanted to run raid you would need a pci controller card. The Black Pearl comes with a couple goodies such as the usb 32mb flash storage device that you can just carry around with you and the board offers a feature that will allow you to play cds without the computer turned on...Besides that these boards are neck to neck in performance.

Good stuf i'm running the granite bay from gigabyte 8inxp and its great. You can defenitely tell the difference in bandwidth.

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!
