ASUS P5B-E MEMORY

Hi guys im new here. Im doing a new C2D build on the Asus P5B-E motherboard. I need some memory that will be compatible with it. 2 gig DDR2 800, in the 200 - 230$$$$$ price range. Thanks much.

The P5B series is notoriously finiky about its memory.

I did however get a matched pair of Corsair 1GB DDR2 800 to work fine. If its not in your price range I suggest buying from a place you can easily return the sticks to in case it doesn't work.

Fastest way to tell if it is compatable is to stick them in and listen (or you could look for the post screen), if you don't hear a beep within 3-5 seconds it hates the memory you chose.

If the board doesn't like the memory it has it will power on and do NOTHING, it will tell you nothing. And it won't post, it won't even attempt to post.
