need some tune up help. I just got my ASUS P5B-Deluxe mobo, an Intel Core Duo 6700, 4 Patriot 1 Giga Ram DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) 4-4-4-12, and a MSI Geforce 7900 GT Pciex video card. Mounted all that with a 600W power supply and 2 WD 74 Raptor HD. It is working fine. The problem is that I use to have an AMD X2 4800 that was almost twice as fast as this new computer. On Windows XP Pro I run Photoshop CS2 and do some filters that took me 31 sec on the AMD 4800. On the new E6700 it is taking 50 sec! I tried some tweaks on the BIOS, but with little success. I upgrade BIOS, downloaded new drivers, and no sucess. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

Here is a CPU-Z shot:

Thank you very much. I'll try the same test with only 2 GB ram, and let you know later.

Again, thanks for your help.

Your observations are not objective. Unless you are running the same filter on the exact same image.

Most likely the results you receive are based on perception rather then actual control study.

Absolutely the exact same image, the exact same filter, the exact same filter settings, the same Photoshop version and updates, and the same programs and devices installed. And by the way, I used a stopwatch to measure.

My hopes were hi, since now I have an Asus P5B with the Core 2 Duo, and sold my AMD 4800.

But I am still trying to find what is wrong, given that all I read was that the Intel processor is much faster, especially on this board. If by any chance you could help me, I would really appreciate.

Thank you very much
