[SOLVED] ASUS P5G41T-M LX3 motherboard

I have ASUS P5G41T-M LX3 motherboard and i want to upgrade it what is the best processor i can buy for it , what is the best RAM i can buy for it and what is the best graphics card i can buy for it . I have a Cooler Master 650W PSU if that matters. And i already have 2gb of ddr3 ram , core 2 duo e4500 2.2 GHz and a GeForce 8600 GT Magic graphics card . Please help .

The Core 2 Quads are the most capable CPUs for that motherboard, but can be hard to find. Also, by today's standards, they are lacking in performance.

The maximum amount of supported memory is 8GB. For best performance, two matching, compatible 4GB memory sticks should be used.

The GPU "best" is based on your budget.

Honestly, you would be better off saving your money and spending it on a MUCH more modern system.

well yeah i know but i dont have that much money to build a new one so i wanted to upgrade this one so i wanted to buy a 8gb of ram memory plus the 2 i have that will give 10 gb of ram is it possible? also i can choose from ASUS DUAL-GTX1050-O2G-V2 , ASUS PH-RX550-4G-M7 , Sapphire AMD PCX PULSE Radeon RX 550 2GB GDDR5 DVI/HDMI/DP DX12 OC graphics cards which should i pick?

From what I saw in the manual for the motherboard, it only supports 4GB memory sticks. Getting an 8GB stick to work is unlikely. Also, mixing memory sticks can cause all sorts of problems.

I think you are more likely to get the GTX 1050 to work, rather the RX 550 models. The RX 550 usually needs a UEFI based system to work.

No, it looks like faster memory is also supported. Are you looking at some specific memory? If so, link it here for assessment.

Which one of these is the best to buy and will the build be good ? PS - i know i already asked for a GPU but these ones are more affordable to me .

Go with one of the GT730. The DDR5 will be the faster of the two of them.

The memory will very likely not run at the rated speed, but could work at a lower speed instead. Do you have the exact, full model number of that memory?

so the motherboard cant stand 1866 MHz , so can it support 1600 MHz?

The speed is less important than the way the actual memory is configured on the memory sticks. High density, single-sided, dual-sided, etc. If compatible, the system can downclock the memory to an acceptable speed.

I am trying to determine if the memory you want to buy will actually work with this older motherboard.

The GT730 is more likely to actually work with this old motherboard.

Mixing memory is not advisable. If it works, it will work at the lower speed, if at all.

Also, it will likely only work in single channel mode.

Since you haven't provided the actual model number of the two choices, I can't make a recommendation. What website are you using to look for memory?

Okay. This is getting difficult.

When you go into the shops, explain that you are using an old motherboard that is using a G41 chipset. You can't use the most current DDR3 memory in that old system.

The technicians should be able to advise you on their products.

Yes, the CPU and GPU should work together just fine.

Regarding the memory, maybe. Without the actual model information, there is no way to know. Try it and return/exchange if it doesn't work. Or, take your PC with you and have the technicians install and check it.
