Asus P5K Audio works fine for a few days then stops till restart

This started happening about 4 months ago, where my audio would just stop working, but then after I rebooted it would work fine for a few days then stop working. I even disabled the onboard audio and installed a Creative sound card. Same thing happens. When the audio is not working, I can open up Winamp and try to play an audio file, and it will not start playing the file, it will just stay at zero on the counter, like it knows the audio won't work.

Any advice would be helpful - Since this happens with onboard sound, as well as with a physical sound card, is this surely a motherboard or BIOS issue?
