ASUS P5KPLAM-SE replaced by Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L

I'm an LGA 775 hardliner (I actually have no money for a Skylake / AMD build), and I'm planning to replace my old asus mobo for a gigabyte mobo (models are at the title). Should I go ahead or not? My casing is a utx generic type.

Both have the same chipset G31, you should be fine. And the GA-G31M-ES2L is the Micro ATX format, and it will fit into your case.
