Asus p5q deluxe does not start up

This morning suddenly my motherboard does not boot anymore.
Pressing the power button on the computer case or pressing the small power and reset buttons on the board directly does nothing. No Fan, no hard disk power, no picture, not even an error beeb or the load beep my PSU usually does if it is turned on.
The power and reset button on the motherboard are illuminated, so power in general seems to be present.

I already tried removing the power cord, waiting a few seconds until the lights on the board went off, then reattached and retried: no change
I reset the bios using the jumper on the board: no change
I removed every RAM module one by one: no change. Not even an error beep now that no RAM module is placed on the board.

Any ideas anyone?
What could it be with this symptoms?

sounds like you lost a leg in the power supply. check to see if the unit under warranty if it is rma it. if not see if a friend has one you can use to test your rig with.
