Perhaps someone has an idea what the cause of this might be.
This is a new system. Upon first setup it ran fine for about half a day then started to experience strange crashes in Vista. I also got some STOP 0x00000124 but I ruled out the known problem with sound and nvidia under vista.

I started to get R/W ERROR RAM when starting up the box. I did not change anything on the bios at first figuring that AUTO setting would be sufficient. After investigating on the Corsair website I manually set the DRAM to 1066 with timing of 5-5-5-15 and voltage to 2.1.

That did solve the R/W ERROR RAM from what I can tell. However when trying to install Vista it bombs early on with (*@&$(@*&$(*@$@*!($!@$@^ something like that being suddenly displayed on the screen and it hangs itself.

Does someone have an idea what the cause of this could be as I am not sure if it is due to wrong BIOS settings, faulty RAM/mobo.

Thank You!

So I went to get a cheap stick of DDR2 to ex/include RAM being the problem. I get the same results. I am still not sure if its now a board or a cpu (intel e8400) for being defective or misconfigured

Do you have the latest bios installed? Also, does your Vista disk include SP-1?

Try installing Vista with only 1 module installed, update to SP-1, and then reinstall the 2nd module.
