Asus P5Q-EM onboard Gfx Not Working?

Basically when I run this board with a dedicated pci-e gpu, everything works fine and dandy. But I gave my friend the card I was using and whenever I try to use the board with onboard gfx, there is no display. I've tried everything, I've tried vga and hdmi to no avail. No signal detected every time. Is it possible/likely that the onboard gfx could fry and stay an isolated issue in the chipset?

Check in the BIOS for Primary graphics set to onboard, might also try booting into safe mode if it lets you in, see if on-board has been disabled
