Asus P5Q Series + eVGA 8600 GT = No Boot (ever)

8800 GTS 640ms also does not work

Im currently unable to get a 8800 GTS 640meg. Blanck screen.

Ive tried:
-changing the P5Q SE (both motherboards did not work)
-tried with another videocard: ATI 1800x.

anyone know what to do?

From reading this and other boards I do not think there is much that can be done. See my post above, we are all here due to this issue. If your board has an on board power connector make sure it is used. It appears that PCI Express -16 video boards without an on board power connector do not function in the P5Q -XX PCI Express 16 2.0 slots and only a few pre version 2.0 boards with a power connector will work in the PCI-E version 2.0 slot on the ASUS boards. I picked up a PNY GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB PCI-E 2.0 board at Staples for under $100 and it works great in my P5Q MOBO.
