Hello! So i just built a really cheap pc (got some stuff to add), got this mobo and only thing thats left was a gpu. I bought it, put it in, plug the pc to the outlet and nothing happens. Check the motherboard - no power light. I take out the gpu - everything is working, green light is on. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Specs:
ASUS P5VDC-X
1GB DDR2 667Mhz
Pentium 4 2.8ghz (the 1 core one.)
ATI Radeon x1300 256mb
420w psu.

Solution
Yeah, the PSU might have had it's SCP tripped, but with the card all the way in the PCI-E slot, the problem isn't there, so the PSU stays on.

So not even a green light on the mobo can mean that psu is too weak? Ok thanks, ill buy one.

it only says that for a model: model lpk 12-23
but im still not sure how does a too weak psu can just not show any life in a mobo, it should say that mobo is getting the power.

i think i fixed it tho, can it be that the gpu was not fully inserted into the pcie slot so it caused the mobo to not work? i removed the screw thing from the case where the ports are and that gave more space for inserting the gpu. I havent booted the machine up, but i saw the green light, assuming it works. ill check back later, but i would also like to know, can that be the case?

Waiiit... so you're telling me that your computer's PSU has NO BRANDING!? Does it feel super light?

it came with a case like 9 years ago, hasnt been used. I am really sure that it is working. As i said, i think i found the problem, can it be it?
