Hey,

I opened up my PC today to quickly change a faulty IDE cable. When I quickly did the job, closed my case and connected power I switched on the PC.

It switched its self on, heatsink fan spinning, motherboard light on. Switched the monitor on, apparently there was no source, It PC didnt make the boot noises, my USB keyboard and mouse never lighted up either.

So I switched it off, took out the CMOS, put it back in, still didnt wrk. Checked VGA cable, that was in, everything was fine.

Anyone know whats wrong? :/

Lets start by listing out the hardware your using..

You reset the BIOS? Because there is a spot where it asks what type of video input to default too.

I know this is lame.. but the very first time I hooked everything up and hit the power button nothing happened. Then I stood my tower up and hit the power and it went like a champ and has since.

Technical no... luck.. sure.. weird? maybe

It sounds to me that in your haste to fix your problem, you nudged something that didn't like being nudged. Reseat everything, cables first, CPU absolutely last.
