I was looking at motherboards for my first build and I'm kind of torn between the Asus p5w dh deluxe with wifi and the Asus p5b deluxe with wifi. I plan on using the computer for gaming and graphics editing and will experiment with overclocking the system a bit most likely. They seem pretty comparable in price, so I was wondering which board would be better. I prefer to have onboard wifi in order to avoid eating up a pci slot but if anyone has any other suggestions other than these two boards, I'm willing to explore them even if it doesn't include wifi.

Thanks.

The P5W uses different chipsets than the P5Bs... It uses the 975/ICH7R chipset vs the 965/ICH8R chipset seen on the P5Bs. I wont go into the differences in detail here, but it is worth noting that the 965 chipset can overclock higher.

I went with the P5B-Dlx because the price was right... I would say look at the Asus Commando and P5B-PLus as well. See which has the features that will suit you best. The P5B-Dlx has the wifi on board, but it has 1 less PCI slot, so essentially it IS eating up one slot (and you are probably getting lower quality wifi).

Take a look at the Abit QuadGT too. It's faster clock for clock than the P5Bs and OCs very well, but it doesnt have as many features.

also if you want to use crossfire set-up then the p5w would be better because the two pci-e will both run at x8 when using two cards but on the p5b they will be x16 and x4 which from my understanding wouldn't be as fast as the two x8 (please correct me if I'm wrong about it)
