Question ASUS P6X58D-E mobo upgrade to four sticks of 8Gb

These four sticks of Patriot 8Gb RAM are running using slots A2, A1, B1 and C1. They are DDR3, 1600MHz, 1.5V, kit# PV38G160C9K.
They are running but quite slowly. Have not touched the BIOS. I know this MOBO with CPU Intel i7 core 930, came out around 2009, but I am hesitant to spend lots at this time.
Can anyone offer any well inform help with this question?
