Hi,
I have problem with my motherboard. It's old Asus P7H55/USB3. I put a new chassis fan in my PC but I made a mistake and bought 4-pin PWM fan but my motherboard has only 3-pin connection so it is very loud because it work on its highest speed of around 1400 . Yet according to the manual for my motherboard there should be an option to control its speed from BIOS, at least for it not to work with highest speed https://www.manualslib.com/manual/449159/Asus-P7h55-Usb3.html?page=61#manual even though I don't have such option in my PC BIOS under hardware monitor.

What BIOS version are you currently on for your motherboard?

What fans did you get and how many do you have to work with? A simple solution would be to buy into a PWM fan hub or a PWM fan splitter and have the hub/splitter hooked up to the CPU_FAN header. Meaning all your fans will ramp or die down according to the CPU temps. If you can't source a PWM fan splitter or hub(and you can return the PWN fans), then I'd advise on getting 3pin DC fans, since your board doesn't have support for PWM fans on the other two headers.

Only the CPU_FAN and CHA_FAN connectors support the FAN Xpert feature.

Thank you for answers, I will return fan and buy new one with 3 pins. Do you have any recommendation for a simple, non PWM quiet fan?
