Asus p7p55d-e pro won't boot after installing new PSU.

My old PSU (xfx 750) made a load pop and then died. I then installed a new PSU (cx 750) and get a green power light on the motherboard. When I go to boot, the fans spin for about half a second and then stop.

Is my motherboard shot?

by fans do you mean cpu/gpu fans or do you mean case fans?
the case fans should stay on even if the motherboard wont post.
what is your system specs?
does psu fan stay on?

Make sure both the 24 pin mobo power connector is snug as well as the 4/8pin connector by the CPU socket
