Since I destroyed my last mobo I had no choice to buy another and as I wanted an upgrade anyway I got one. I bought An Asus P8B75-V used which probably wasn't the best Idea as I wasn't entirely sure what went wrong with my old and if the mobo was broken at all. Anyway, I bought a new Celeron G2620 (which I thought had B75 in compatible chipsets). First turn on and my PC did the same as when my old broke, fans etc go on but nothing on screen. After 2 hours of trial and error I got it to work but with a graphics card instead of in built but I have to pus the reset button after the on button (thats the odd bit). Does/Did anyone else have this problem? Sometimes the OS won't fully load either, it will just stop from the HDD. My PC also won't work if I add anymore ram even after going through the mem test thing which is also really dodgy as I have to push reset to use it (even though switch pins connector things are in the right place).

So Is this a normal problem for a processor which doesn't accept the chipset? having to push the reset button for the PC to kick in and Bios to show or could It be a problem with something else?

No that sounds like front panel issues with the case or board, not sure why the video isn't working either. did you buy this thing used, or open box? Not that it much matters I would think it would have the same possible issues. First thing I would do is reseat the processor if you can. And if possible update the bios on the board. It should just work. Did you have the GPU pluged into the board when you first tried onboard video? Many boards disable onboard graphics when they detect a GPU.

That board was designed to run that processor and visa versa so its not a support thing.
CPU TypeCore i7 / i5 / i3 / Pentium / Celeron (LGA1155)
and it an Ivy CPU which means the 7X chipset is the one you want.

nope :pt1cable: I will though

First time I tried everything the graphics card wasn't in, I put it in after about 1 and 3/4 hours of trying

Okay just making sure I would still check for bent pins as he mentioned as that would have you reseat the processor as well in case that is the issue to begin with. If it wasn't booting I would agree with the memory thing but the fact it boots just fine with the GPU makes me think elsewhere. The reset thing is odd, you 100% sure you have the front panel hooked up right on the board?

I only have one module of ram and It works fine in every slot (i do have another module but It's 1gb and different, should i try that with my usual 4gb so long as I clock it to 1333mhz?

I tried It all with the graphics card In, should I have taken It out?

How do I do that?

Check the connector on the motherboard where the power, reset buttons and HDD and power LEDs are connected.
Disconnect all wires.
Check the motherboard manual and identify the 2 pins where the case power button wires have to be connected to the motherboard.
Sortly touch the 2 pins with a screwdriver (it's what the power button does whe pressed - shorting the 2 pins).

So for Christmas i got the club 3d radeon 7870 and now it's in there the in built graphics are working but I still need to push the restart button to turn on normally.
