Hi all

I have the following motherboard ASUS P8H61-M LE rev 1.03 , with 2x2GB RAM kingston 1.5V and an Intel G2030 CPU.. I cannot understand, and cannot find anywhere over the internet, what these 4 straight beeps means...

What I have done until now:

  • Trying with onboard GPU,
  • Trying with graphics card
  • Replace the RAMs
  • Use only 1 of the ram slots and 1 of the ram dimms
  • Use CPU and Rams from another working PC
  • Reset CMOS by jumber (put on pins 2-3 and back to pins 1-2)
  • The above step with and without CMOS battery
  • I have also check CPU compatibility

Before put the motherboard into garbages, you guyz are my last chance....Heeeeeelp!

i3-3220 launch date was Q3/2012

G2030 launch date was Q2/2013

the I3-3220 is one year older
you could use the i3 to update the BIOS or you will have to get another CPU which is compatible with an older BIOS (yours should be version 3605) like the i3 you had.

did this system work before?

replace the CMOS battery with a new one

Install one RAM in DIMM slot A2 (try the other RAM there after that as well if it doesn´t work)

If it didn´t work before, the BIOS of the motherboard might be outdated and not compatible to the installed CPU.

I have done all these tests.. The motherboard was working with an Intel i3-3220, and the cpu was working on a gigabyte motherboard... But I have to make these parts to work together.. I am not sure if bios needs any kind of update, because i3 is newer than G2030 cpu... Also, in the compatibility list, this cpu is included... But if I have to do bios update , which steps I have to follow?

To update the BIOS, reinstall the I3-3220 (some 3220 are compatible since BIOS version 3605, the G2030 since the later version 4401

update the BIOS

reinstall the G3220 again

be sure no pins of the socket of the motherboard are bent or discolored

I do not have another cpu to do this... :-( how are you so sure that bios is the problem? I mean, I3-3220 is newer than G2030... So, if bios reads a newer cpu, why not read an older...
