Port specifications are standard - the drivers used to support the ports aren't always the same, some mobo makers tune the drivers better than others, i.e. I prefer the Intel drivers to say those of ASMedia
but in this case there are 4 SATA2 ports on both MB, they both have intel H61, so no different chipset or driver. there is no point for that question. only difference between them is one PCIe x1 that you can't use if you have a videocard installed, and the brand. and price maybe.
MB are the same. I don't understand the question with SATA speed.
dude SATA speed changes with different motherboard company since higher range means good SATA ports or high quality ports components . Is that true or not ?
Hi, both boards are very similar and both boards has SATA 3Gb/s so transfer speeds will be the same. The gigabyte board is cheaper as well so go with Ga-H61M-DS2, the ASUS board doesn't have anything capability wise to warrant the extra costs.
dude are the Gigabyte mobo's are long lasting since in India ASUS is reputed band and replacement claim is easy but Gigabyte have little bit problem in replacement . ASUS Motherboards are long lasting means not to worry if you purchased ASUS but don't know about Gigabyte so please suggest good 1

high quality SATA?! they are standard, is either 3GB/s or 6GB/s, with a usual hdd you won't tell a difference. even with an SSD with 3GB/s you're limited to 250/300 MB/s read/write and 6GB/s you'll have about 500MB/s read/write. In real life only benchmarks tells you it's faster, but you won't notice the difference.
