I want to upgrade from i5 2400 and the 3570 would be the one if i know it is going to work with my board.ASUS P8H61-MX on the CPU support page the i5 3570 is not on there.😕But on User benchmarks for this motherboard. this was on there for my motherboard i5-3570, So my question to you will my motherboard support that CPU? The 3570 k supports my motherboard so I see no reason why the 3570 would. not. The 3570 is supported on other versions of the motherboard it has Rev NO after it,my board has E 1 what does REV N and E1 mean?

Could just be an accidental omission, they do support many of the i3 and i7 3rd gen chips (but not all of them I note)

Could always play it safe and just find an i7-3770 that is listed. Given the age of the platform this is likely the last upgrade you will make, might as well make it worthwhile.

Yes, that is true. That costs an arm and leg £60 and that,s a CEX price. The 3570 is £12. I realize that. Someone on another forum said he had it on a P8H61-MX but whether or not that was the board he had is another thing. As there are so many different versions of the board, I don,t suppose you know what Rev NO or E1 means. in computer terms. I could get the i5-3570K for £14 at CEX . This one seems to support all the I5 and i7 for 1155 CPUs Intell DH61WW.

My guess would be regional notations. NO might be rev 0, and E1 could be a preproduction board (engineering), but it could be E for Europe?

Well, buying from a retail store is going to raise the price a bit. There are occasional ebay sales of i7-3770 for under £30.

You could also look at Xeon e3-1230 v2 and e3-1240 v2. They are identical to the i7-3770 and i7-3770k without the unlocked multiplier. And they do list the older E3-1230 as compatible, so it has just as good a chance at working as the i5 you want to get...

I have a Asus MotherboardP8H61-MX I have looked on the supported CPU,s for this motherboard, but the i5 3570 is not on there ,and yet the i5 3570 k is on there ,surely if that is on there, the non-k version should be compatible, Allso on the motherbooards the non k is supported it has REV NO the i5 ones that are supported on mine have E1?But i did see this on User benchmarks
Asus P8H61-MX
Performance Results User benchmarks for this motherboard (9 others the other eight are suppoted by my motherboard.

I don,t know if you live in the UK but the prices on Cex are a lot cheaper than on eBay.The cheapest price on eBay at the present time is £20 CEX price £14 with a 24-month guarantee.
The cheapest i7 3770 is £23.70 I do hate it when they just say used.?we know it is used.😕

I don't live in the UK, but I do make a lot of recommendations in £

Seriously, take a look at the Xeon.

I understand from what i have read on other forms that the H61 .MX can,t overclock? I was under the impression that only OEM boards could not overclocking.I see that
Foxconn H61MX supports 3570 but it does not support the but not Intel Xeon E3-1230
