I've just bought 4x matching 8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram to upgrade from my mixed 4x 4gb. They all work individually in every slot with no issue. They work in pairs in every slot (other than if I plug them into A1 and A2) but if I plug them into all 4 slots then I get a black screen. I've updated the bios and still no luck. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

If you're experiencing a black screen when using all four RAM modules together, there are a few potential issues you could investigate:
  1. Compatibility: Ensure that the new RAM modules you purchased are compatible with your motherboard. Check the motherboard's manual or visit the manufacturer's website to verify the supported RAM configurations. It's possible that the motherboard may have limitations on the total amount of memory it can handle or specific requirements for memory module configurations.
  2. Mixing RAM: Mixing different types or brands of RAM modules can sometimes lead to compatibility issues. While your new 8GB DDR3 1600MHz modules work individually and in pairs, there could be compatibility problems when all four are installed together. It's generally recommended to use identical RAM modules for optimal compatibility.
  3. Memory Slot Issues: Check for any physical issues with the memory slots on your motherboard. Clean the slots and ensure there are no debris or bent pins that might be causing connectivity problems. Try reseating the RAM modules firmly to ensure they are properly inserted.
  4. BIOS Settings: Check your motherboard's BIOS settings related to memory. Some BIOS configurations may require adjustments for optimal memory compatibility. Look for settings like "Memory Remap Feature" or "Memory Configuration" and ensure they are set correctly.
  5. Memory Testing: Run memory diagnostics to check for any potential issues with the RAM modules. Tools like Memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic can help identify potential memory errors or faults.
If you've exhausted these troubleshooting steps and are still experiencing issues, it may be worth consulting with the motherboard manufacturer's support or seeking assistance from a professional technician who can examine your hardware configuration in detail.
