I tried to upgrade the RAM on the following system:
Intel i5-3470 3.20 quad core running 8 gigs of DDR3 1333/1600
Asus P8H77-V
Windows 7
Took out the old RAM, put the new RAM (Ballistix 2x8GB DDR3 1600) in the old slots. Made sure they were seated properly.
Now the computer won't boot. Loading in the old RAM won't work either. Resetting the BIOS doesn't work, and the Windows startup gives me an error message (in Japanese—as I live in Japan), but doesn't find anything. Only option is to shut down.
I reset the BIOS.
I unplugged the computer and drained the capacitor on the start button. Then I took out the battery on the motherboard and waited. Nothing helps.
I apologize for my inexperience and would greatly welcome any assistance.
Sincerely,
Justin
