Hi, i have Asus P8Z68-V & Cooler Master ATCS 840, the case contains 4 fans, it has 4 3-pin connectors and my mobo only has 2 pwr_fans and 2 cha_fans and 2 cpu_fans, how can i connect all of my fans to my mobo, is it possible or do i need to get another mobo? Thanks!
The ASUS P8Z68-V has the following fan headers:
CPU_FAN - 4-pin with PWM fan speed control
CPU_FAN_OPT - 4-pin with PWM fan speed control
CHA_FAN1 - 4-pin with PWM fan speed control
CHA_FAN2 - 3-pin with fan speed monitoring and speed control through ASUS Fan Xpert feature
PWR_FAN1 - 3-pin with fan speed monitoring only. Fan always runs at maximum speed unless the fan has its own voltage drop down resistor(s)/potentiometer.
PWR_FAN2 - 3-pin with fan speed monitoring only. Fan always runs at maximum speed unless the fan has its own voltage drop down resistor(s)/potentiometer.
The four case fans can be connected to the
CHA_FAN1,
CHA_FAN2,
PWR_FAN1 and
PWR_FAN2 headers.
When using a 3-pin fan with a 4-pin fan header, the fan is always on; there is no fan speed control.
Fan has a 3-pin power connector; motherboard has a 4-pin fan header
4-Pin Fan Header
1 - Ground
2 - +12 V
3 - FAN_TACH
4 - PWM FAN_CONTROL

2 - FAN_POWER
