I know where to get the drivers for this motherboard after referencing a post I found on this website. However, I have no idea what to install from the list, or how to go about it.

My current Hard Drive is ancient and I bought a new one to replace it. I reinstalled windows on the new hd, but it didn't recognize the internet connection.

That link is where I went to get the drivers, but I am a total noob and I have sense frozen up with fear. My current rig plays games ok, but I don't want to be lazy and keep using it until a catastrophic failure occurs. I already bought the hard drive and I want to use it, but once I install it and boot it up I am at a loss as far as actually applying and installing these drivers (which ones, what order, the literal steps on what to click and when, etc.).

Also, is there a way to simply install the new hard drive as a second storage medium, and then migrate everything to it so I can uninstall the old one? Or am I just trying to find a way to not deal with installing drivers?

Is anyone out there willing to sell me their copy of this motherboard's install disc?

Driver installation is absolutely simple.

On the link you posted, select your OS and then download the following as a MUST:
- AUDIO
- CHIPSET
- VGA
- LAN
- USB (only if you have windows 7)
-SATA (only if you have windows 7)
-BLUETOOTH (only if you have windows 7)

For each one, download the latest one, which is at the top of the list on the ASUS website (look for the latest date in grey)

Once downloaded, they will all be zip files. Put them on your desktop and right click and extract all for each one. Once they are all extracted, you can delete the zipped ones.

Now time for install. Order doesn't really matter but to make it logical I would suggest Chipset -> LAN -> VGA -> USB -> SATA - > BLUETOOTH -> AUDIO.

To install them, just open the respective folder that is now unzipped/extracted and look for a 'setup'. The file type of the 'setup' will be an application. For ASUS boards, most drivers will have 'Asus setup' - use that .
When you find it, right click and Run as Administrator. Now follow the on screen steps and mostly click next next next..... to complete the install. Its a good idea to restart after each driver has been installed.

Repeat until all drivers are done.

To check that drivers have been correctly installed. Go to search (or press Win key + S in Windows 8) and type device manager. Once device manager opens if there are any yellow exclamations next to devices, their driver has failed or has not been installed.

Don't bother with migrating drivers from old drive etc...more of a headache than convenience. Easier to install fresh.

Once you are done, you can format the old drive and use it as a secondary drive by all means.

Thanks very much for the assistance. I'm in the process of doing this now and I'm getting stuck. I installed the audio and chipset successfully. At least it seems that way. I'm able to listen to music, not sure how to confirm the chipset.

Amyways, im stuck at the LAN. The asus site has a note stating to install another utility from another website prior to installing the LAN driver (full disclosure i messed up and installed the driver first, about to Try and walk it all back to do over) . I already installed the lan driver and restarted, and no internet connection can be made. So then I downloaded that utility and followed the instructions but I'm unable to pull it off. It wants me to run cmd prompt as admin and start the program from there. I tried adding the desktop to the PATH in cmd but neither that nor placing the referred utility in either of my program folders allowed me to detect the executable when using the START command.

Not sure what to do.

Fixed. Thanks again for the help. So awesome. I am truly grateful. Just had to uninstall the LAN and reinstall. I messed up the order. Again, thank you.
