Hi.
I have just built my first gaming pc. My OS of choice in Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
I first set the drives to IDE mode to install the OS. When I got to the part to select which drive I wanted to install Windows to, I loaded EVERY single driver from my motherboards disk.
That did me no good. When I restarted as soon as the OS was done installing and set SATA back to AHCI, Windows BSODS and will not boot at all. System recovery ends with an endless loop.
I am using an SSD, and I have read that IDE mode disables TRIM, so that does not sit well with me.
I also want to RAID sometime later on, when I have more money.
Has ANYONE installed Windows 7 x64 on an SSD using AHCI? Is it even possible?
