Asus P8Z77-M firmware?

Hello,

I just bought this motherboard and im building my PC, but im pretty clueless when it comes to updating the BIOS on the motherboard, i know that Asus uses BIOS/EFI but i still dont know how to update it.

Since my PC doesnt have an OS yet, do i just download the new firmware via the website, and i choose OS DOS and pass it to a USB and thats it?

Auto-Update? Dont know how to get there yet, lol

Under the "Choose OS" option, i should choose DOS right or does it matter? If i want to update it from the BIOS with Asus EZ Flash.

I am not following you. You have no Operating System installed on your main drive correct?

So, your firmware would be downloaded onto something else, then when you finally get your Operating System installed, you go in and install everything or update everything from your flash or wherever you kept the firmware.

the easy way is to flash your bios from inside the bios. you expand the bios file to a usb stick with the z77 mb you have to rename the bios file per asus bios renaming guild and then go into the bios and it under advace mode to flash the bios from inside the bios.
