i am trying to set up my motherboard to boot from USB so that i can install windows.

i went into advanced mode in BIOS. under advanced settings i changed USB from ''auto'' to ''hard disk''. now in bios boot order i have an USB option.

the problem is that during instalation my computer says that they can not find a cd,hard disk to install windows.

can anyone help? thank you

Go back and change it back tot he way it was. During POST You actually need to press the F-key that corresponds to "select boot device" and then select the dvd or flash drive. If you have a graphical bios, you would select the "UEFI:" version of you dvd or flash drive listing. ie- UEFI:8GB CRUZER or it might say UEFI:Windows8.1 instead since it what it says is bios dependant but it will definitly say UEFI in front.
