First a little history... I had a P9X79 board but the onboard LAN 82579 has no drivers for Windows Server 2012 and R2 edition. I looked everywhere and found where I can edit the .inf and it did not work. Otherwise, the motherboard worked just great.
Therefore, I upgraded to a P9X79-E WS, but now the problem is that it will not boot. Everything turns on, fans, DVD drives open and close but I have no video.
I used the same CPU (i7 4930K, 64 GB Ram G.Skill DDR3 2400 and NVidia GT 620 Video (1 GB DDR3) card as on the P9X79.
Using the LED lights as an indicator, it tells me the CPU is no good, also, manual indicates that the LED on board
for the video card should turn on, then off after it verifies it is good. It does not turn on at all.
Also, there is a Q-Code LED (gives you 2 digits codes) on the board that indicates (using the codes from the latest manual) what could be wrong, but that does not light up either.
I went as far as connecting a PC speaker to the system panel connector and listen to the beeps that it would emit, none come out.
I think I have a bad board. I also sent off an email to ASUS explaining the same. Waiting.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
