Basic config: Asus P9X79 LE, Xeon E5-1660 v2, 64Gb RAM, 512Gb SSD (OS), 4 x 4Tb WD Black in RAID10, Win 7 Pro

System set up fine, drivers etc on ok

OS Restart: BOOT_DEVICE_LED lights for longer than normal - cursor flashing, eventually RAID screen comes up RAID failed - 3 of the 4 disks are no longer members, boot into Windows, Volume isn't present.

OS Shutdown and Power on: System operates as normal. RAID/Volume detected normal.

Have tried 2nd of the same motherboard - issue persists.
HDDs test fine.
BIOS @ current.

Anyone encountered this? Any suggestions?

Have done some googling - no luck, mostly people with issues loading drivers @ OS install or recovering from a failed RAID.

Thanks

I assume you have the four Black drives connected to the 4 normal Intel SATA2 ports, yes?

Which version of Intel RST (RAID) are you using? And is it a hardware RAID in the BIOS, ie.
SATA ports set to RAID mode?

Ian.

Yup the drives are on the SATA2 and RAID is set in BIOS.
Using RSTe 3.5.0.1005

Reinstalling as IRST instead of RSTe has corrected the issue. Thanks Ian.

Seems an issue peculiar to the Xeon as I had built an almost identical machine, the difference being a 2011 socket i7 instead of the Xeon and that one worked fine.
