Hi,

I have a problem where I have an Asus P9X79 Pro and I'm trying to install an EVGA Titan X series card. The motherboard doesn't seem to detect the card ever. Here's what I try:

* Swapping PCI-E slots
* Using older video card in those slots
* 850 watt power supply
* Upgraded BIOS to latest version
* In Ubuntu, I do an lspci and there's no sign of the video card at all, no output ports on the video card output anything.
* Clearing CMOS

Any debugging suggestions are appreciated,
mj

Okay, it miraculously started working. I switched to PCI-E slot 3 and for some reason it works. @ColGeek, thank you for your suggestions

I don't even know that. I bought it off ebay. I need a ping or diagnostic tool.

I meant a figurative "ping". Where somehow via some motherboard utility I can query the PCI-E slot so that I can see if the motherboard even sees anything there.
Regarding another working GPU, I can put in a working one on any PCI-E slot and it works. It's set for gen 3.
