Asus PG278Q PROBLEM!

Hi, I purchased the PG278Q just after it released in August, 2014. I used it with no problems for about 6 months then the monitor wouldn't be recognized/detected by any computer or machine. I took it to the service center and they gave me a new Power AC Adapter and it fixed the issue TEMPORARILY. I had to unplug the AC Adapter and re plug 5 - 10 times while the PC was on to finally get it to work as normal. I used the monitor as is for another 6 months and thenI had to move overseas for 3 years. Now I just got back to Australia where I live and the monitor has been kept safe and clean in a box/covered in a protective cloth. Now my current issue is that the monitor isn't detected on any PC or Laptop again but the AC Power Adapter doesn't work. I tried different Display ports and I even tried a display port to HDMI which didn't work. I tried a new AC Adapter again. I tried a new USB USB 3.0 Type A to Type B as well. Since I bought this monitor when it came out it was $1000 AUD and my warranty has run out because I have been living overseas so I have barely even used the monitor. I live in Melbourne which is a major city in Australia and the nearest service/repair center is in Sydney which is 1000km away and would cost me over $100 to ship it there and back plus the $100 service fee and then whatever stupid price they charge to repair it. Hence why I have come to this forum to try and resolve this issue because I cannot find what I'm looking for online. My PC specs are as follows: Asus GTX 980 STRIX, Intel Core I7 4990k, 32gb DDR3 ram, Corsair AX 8601, MSI MPOWER MAX Motherboard, H110i CPU Cooler. 1TB HD and 250gb SSD. I also tried using my laptop to see it as another monitor device but itcouldnt detect it (Note I have used an LGUltrawide Monitor with my LAPTOP but the ASUS WONT WORK). My laptop specs are Nvidia GTX970M, i7 6790q etc.
I would like to fix this as cheaply as possible and not have to go to the service center, I hope you guys know what to do! I'll answer any questions. Thanks!

EDIT: DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE ON LAPTOP BUT NOT PC BECAUSE I CANT USE IT WITHOUT A MONITOR

Use another monitor and update your PC'S video drivers and test it again.
