Asus is tn panel 1440p 144hz 1ms
Acer ips panel 1440p 144hz 4ms

Only be used for gaming tn panel is around £100 more expensive but I don't mind paying that just want the best monitor?

As a matter of fact, Acer has only 60Hz refresh rate, so purely for gaming, it would had to be Asus. Assuming your GPU is strong enough to provide that 144 FPS.

The acer is 144hz and oc to 165hz so what one would be better still the asus even though it's tn panel ? Shop opened in 75 mins so going to get one soon please give opinions people

If you go on acer website and look up xb271hu it tells you it's 144hz and overclocks to 165hz ?

Yea so going on acer 1440p 144hz 4ms and ips panel vs asus 1440p 144hz 1ms and tn panel what would you say is the better monitor for gaming ?

IPS have better colors then TN. But TN has better response time, but the difference is not big (but can be noticeable). So it all goes down to what kind of games you play. If playing fast games (shooters etc) where response time matters, Asus would be better. If playing not-fast games where quality of colors matters, Acer would be better.

Ordered the acer today comes tomorrow 1ms to 4ms I don't see me being able to notice that at all

Yeah, but note that those are listed as GTG (grey to grey), real response time is supposed to be double that or more. I have IPS screen with reaction time 5 ms (GTG too), and I can easily see 'shadow' behind scrolled text. Although I must say it is not noticeable in games, but mostly because you don't have time to look for it when busy playing.

Acer is 60 Hz.

That is the frequency not the refresh rate.
