Hello!

I am new to this, so please have some patience. I recently got a ASUS pg279q monitor, but when I plug it in I can't go beyond 60hz and there is no G-sync option in the Nvidia control panel. It's strange since I have a 2080 super and it should be able to do G-sync. What I am doing wrong?

The problem is that when I remove the HDMI cable and only use the DP and when I try to go into the NVIDIA control panel, it says something like: "NVIDIA Display settings are not available. You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU".

That means that you're not in the DP mode, which is necessary to use G-Sync. Have you gone into the monitor's menu, gone into input select, and chosen DP?
