Hello, good morning, I want to buy a gamer monitor. Among all I've seen, I do not decide between the Asus pg279qz and the new Gigabyte Aorus AD27QD.

The cost and characteristics are very similar.
Which of the two do you recommend?

The ASUS screen is a 165Hz, 8-bit screen and has a 4ms GTG (grey to grey) timing. The AORUS screen is 144Hz, has a 10-bit (8-bit + FRC). The difference is that the ASUS screen is G-Sync and the AORUS screen is Freesync. In this case it shouldn't matter, I'm pretty sure (don't take my word for it) that the AORUS screen will be supported by G-Sync.

On paper the AORUS screen seems better, although it has a 144Hz screen instead of the ASUS' 165Hz. (which is probably an overclocked 144Hz panel)

Thank you very much for your reply. I had read about G-Sync, which has problems. I have a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 G1. I think that in the future you can get to solve the problem with G-sync.
Is it worth going for the Gigabyte? Or buy directly Asus?

From the same review:

The Good

QHD resolution and 144Hz FreeSync
-----> Works well with G-Sync <-----
Bright IPS panel with good colour coverage
Excellent out-the-box accuracy
Great viewing angles and versatile stand
Sidekick software has some good ideas

The Bad
Contrast could be better
HDR support is basic

I don't see why G-Sync would be an issue since you have an Nvidia card.

These monitors are very, very alike. I think both of these monitors would work just fine for you.
