ASUS PG297Q-whats the deal?

so this is reviewed as the best best gaming monitor by far...with the refresh rates going to 165 mhz if you have a nvidia gtx 960 or better,IPS panel,great color quality yada yada...its out of stock on amazon,newegg....microcenter never even heard of the thing...for 1 month was waiting for it to come in stock.I asked for email notifications for when it comes in stock.
I come home from work today at about 6 20 pm,check my email...i get a notification from new egg...ITS IN STOCK!!! i clik the link...SOLD OUT!!! LIKE REALLY? YOU KIDING ME?/ LOL!! so it sold out within 10 mins of them telling me it was in stock...so i call newegg to ask how many they had in stock,so i can get an idea if i can get this monitor possibly this year...on the phone 30 mins waiting...no one...ghost town.....
SO....Does anyone know anything about whats going on with this monitor? like...is it in such high demand they didnt make enough? are they not coming out with more till next year?
I'D appreciate any gossip being i ant find anything on the internet besides it being the greatest monitor for gaming of all time but not being able to get it...its kinda like Scarlett johansen calling you every day to tell you she wants to go out with you but then keeps breaking the date.

high demand probably, makes me remember my experience with the gtx 970 when it came out.. out of stock everywhere, had to refresh newegg page every 15 minutes to finally find one in stock after days.

hey,thanks salawow,unfortunately ive ben busy and didnt see this in time,but funny enough...ncix wants 1200 buks,and its even sold on on checking this lol crazy!...im just gonna hang and wait,instead of me camping out in weather conditions with a tent...ill take the weekend to sit at my comp and keep refreshing new egg and amazon lol
