Hey community,

I did a BIOS-Update via the EZ-Mode "download update via Internet". The update was successful and a message popped up to push ok to restart the system. After this restart the screen kept staying black. I tried 2 other displays and tested both the onboard GPU + my additionally GPU. The screen stays black even though I started the system serveral times now. The mouse and keyboard doesn't light up too. I already contacted the ASUS support. I would like to know if others faced a similar problem and maybe got a solution?

Here is my system:
Asus Prime X370-Pro with AMD Ryzen 7
AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
RipJAW V DDR4-3200 RAM

Kind regards
Gian-Luigi

Yes, I know but there is still warranty on the board, so I thought better now than never.

ASUS seemed to be really costumerfriendly when I contacted them for another broken part for my monitor. I will keep you updated if they respond.

I have the same board and have run into this issue many times after BIOS updates. You need to clear the CMOS on the board to reset the BIOS to defaults. For whatever reason this board will act like it's dead when some of the settings are messed up.

I believe the pins are labeled CLRTC. Turn the PC off, unplug power and short these pins for 30 seconds, then unshort them. Plug power back in and boot. You'll have to reset your settings but everything should work.

I may give that a shot when ASUS won't respond to my satisfaction. Good to hear that I am not the only one. I was pretty precaution when I did that update (no unneeded devices plugged in etc.).

It's not worth waiting on ASUS to get back to you. It'll take you 5 minutes to try this and have your PC back up and running. I assume you're hearing the fans spin and seeing lights on the mobo when you press the power button, it just never goes any further?

Sadly it didn't work.

Does the mobo do anything when you press the power button? Every time I've had this issue I've gotten fan spinning, and RGB lights going but no video. Sorry my suggestion didn't help, are you sure you shorted the correct pins?

It is exactly like you said but it didn't do anything else after I have shorted it. I am not totally sure if i correctly shorted it but I used a manual for the board and I watched a YouTube video before. I had no jumper cap so I used a screwdriver. I will try to get a jumper cap

I did get a Jumper Cap today and it didn't work out. ASUS replied that I have to send it to them. I am going for that option now. Thanks for your help though

I updated yesterday also to 4207 and have exactly the same problem. Did the update the same way. System said it's ready and press ok. After that:

Black screen, no keyboard lights.
Bios crash recovery doesn't work.

The reason I did the update us because I was planning to upgrade to a 2nd gen Ryzen that wasn't supported by my current bios version.
Now the system won't work with either Ryzen CPU.

Sorry to hear that. I did send it in today. You can try clearing the CMOS like cmslick3 said. Also I have read that pulling out the Motherboard Battery for 6 hours could help reseting the BIOS.

Don't bother asking ASUS they just said that I had to send it to them to repair. You can trigger that repair service via https://rma.asus-europe.eu/ . I had to contact my distributer and could not use the service directly. But maybe you can send it in without your reseller.

Kind regards

Hey peoples,

so I did get a complete new Motherboard today. They did send it instantly without even trying to repair it. I must say there are really few companies on this planet who are as customer friendly as ASUS.

Thanks for the help everyone. And be advised updating your BIOS to that specific version.

Kind regards
