Hello everyone,

I'm currently building a new pc with an x470 motherboard.

It comes with its own M.2 heatsink and has the blue plastic covering the thermal paste.

Question is, I'm not using a M.2 ssd and wondering whether I should remove the heatsink or leave it and whether or not to remove the blue plastic?

Can't find an answer anywhere on the internet so have to come to you for help.

Thanks, Mike.

Just leave it as it is, it will be doing nothing without a drive inside. If you ever add and M.2 SSD remove that plastic, it covers thermal pad on it.
