I have the asus prime x470-pro board and samsung 970 Evo plus 500 gig drive (connected to the m.2 slot above the graphics card in m.2_1) running with a ryzen 5 2600 and 32 gig of pc3200 flarex ram.

I upgraded from a 850 Evo sata to the new nvme.

My question is when I write a large file (mkv file for example) to the drive, it only writes at 68mbps. If I write to my sp ssd, it writes at 300mbps. Writing from another Samsung 850 Evo. When writing from the 970 plus it reads at 302mbps.

When I run crystal mark, it shows:

2905.20. 2984.5
1524.5. 855.1
280.1. 218.1
64.47. 91.35

Why would my writes and reads from the nvme drive be so slow? Could.. What could be wrong?

Thanks in advance for any information.

can you list all your drive and what port they are connecting to?

Samsung 970 pro nvme
Port: m.2_1

Samsung 850 evo
Port: sata6g_1

Seagate 2tb barracuda
Port: sata6g_2

Sp 250gig A55
Port: sata6g_3

Lg Blu-ray writer
Port: sata6g_4

Blu-ray rom
Port sata6g_0

Also, I pulled the nvme out and put it in another board.. The speed was was just as slow.. I think it may be a bad drive. I'm going to call Samsung later and see if I need to send the drive back to the store or send it to them...
