Hi,

I have a problem with my ASUS Prime x570-P motherboard.

On boot message:
USB device over current status detected

I checked the obvious things which didn't resolve the issue. As the MB is still in warranty I contacted the seller. They checked the MB on 2 different testbeds, including stresstests: they found no problems and sent it back to me...
Unfortunately it's still giving the same problem for me...

Here's my setup:

Asus prime x570-p
corsair rm750
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 AM4
Fury Hyper-x DDR4
Msi radeon 580x oc 8gb

This is what I've tried so far:

  • checked USB ports for damage
  • remove MB from casing to make sure their are no shorts
  • removed everything which could be removed. Only things attached are:
* GPU
* CPU
* 1 stick of RAM
* no usb devices
* no HDD/ext USB ports, etc...
  • reset bios with jumper
  • removed battery and reset bios
  • tried changing RAM
  • tried a brand new PSU including cables

At my ends wits here? The only thing I havent tried is changing the CPU or GPU. Anybody any other ideas???

Thanks,
Mark

"The computer doesn’t boot. It shuts down automatically after 15 sec… "

Didn't know this.

The only thing that comes to mind (if it's not the MB) is the PSU is causing the MB to give that error.....BUT you tried two PSUs....so I'm really strongly still thinking motherboard.
"On boot message:
USB device over current status detected "

You just get this when it boots?
You get it with no USB devices connected?

I think it would be the MB.

Although if it's not causing you any other problems....other than an error on boot....I might learn to live with it.

No usb devices or external USB ports attached. I’m thinking MB too.
