Asus Prime z270-a no screen

I have just installed my new components i5 7600k 8gb of gskill ddr4 ram and a 850w gold plus corsair psu and gtx970, my issue is that I get no screen on startup at first the motherboard was showing a red light but I soon figured out that was only happening when my hdmi cable is plugged in, when I startup the pc whithout it plugged in the light is green and everything is active but plugging the hdmi cable in after will still not show me a screen. I have tested my gpu on another computer and it was working fine, I'm sure it is a problem with the motherboard

Try leaving single RAM module installed, graphics card removed. Connect the monitor (not tv) to the motherboard. Test each RAM slot. See if still no signal.
