I had an old dell OptiPlex 760 and decided to buy an Asus Radeon R7250 2GD5 for £60 so it could hopefully run some games. The pc already was 3.3ghz dual core and had 4gb ddr2 ram. The graphics card did make a difference but not as much as I thought. Is there something I missed about the card or is it something else like the ddr2 ram?

Yeah, probably a bad choice for 60 pounds. The newer, faster GT 1030 (at about the same price) would have been a much better choice. And I didn't even know the r7-250 still came in DDR2. That is some slow VRAM by today's standards.
