Asus R9 270 vs XFX R9 270X

Solution
The only real difference is in Core speed by a 100 MHz. technically the 270X is a better card.

But here's the catch. You're comparing a high end 270 with a low end 270X, and quality wise I'd always prefer Asus.

Also its the DirectCU II OC edition which is indeed a very powerful GPU, and I'd rather not go with the Double D XFX since its cooling is not trusted

Asus makes solid GPUs for a bit premium price but are worth it and they're quiet too. Go for 270!

Your PSU can support that. Also, the quality Asus provides is very premium. That 270 edition is comparatively good at OCing too. And yes MSI Afterburner would do it. GO for it! :)
