Asus R9 280x GPU good for 1920x1200 gaming??

Well basically, like the title says i am a slight bit confused about the whole 16:9, 16:10, what resolutions is good for this and this, etc.... i found a monitor as i have tried looking for a new one for a little while, it is a BenQ BL2411PT, yet i just noticed that it runs with 1920x1200 and i have only heard about 1080p being superior when i started looking up monitors, so i am not sure whether or not my GPU would be good for it and if it nice to game with etc.

yes, the R9 280X will be capable of 1920x1200, it isn't a significant jump, and it will still max out all games with good FPS. The aspect ratio is no big deal, just as the screens get wider, the ratio will increase length wise.
