ASUS R9 290 random black screens

Hello there,

so, I've decided to purchase and install an R9 290 and I've been experiencing random black screens, it doesn't seem to happen during gaming but does happen during browser usage. It seems to happen most regularly when watching YouTube videos. I've completely removed all drivers and reinstalled (using DDU), I've also checked the vBios and it is still doing it so I'm not quite sure what could be causing it?

I have two monitors, one is connected by DVI, the other by displayport, could this be possibly causing it?

Edit: Something to add, I turned on (I normally have my second monitor turned off until I need it) my second monitor (DVI) and noticed that the black screen only affects the primary monitor which is DisplayPort

Hello, I just bought a MSI R9 390 and it is happening to me also, sometimes while browsing or just on windows desktop, on gamming no issues so far, but it seems to me that the monitor loose signal completely, I left one video of youtube playing and when the screen went off also the sound stopped, I'm using the monitor speakers. Let me know if you found any way to fix this, or if I found something I'll let you know.

I've disabled DisplayPort 1.2 on my monitor (went back to 1.1a) and this seems to have fixed it for me (fingers crossed)

But i have an ultrawide 1440p monitor , that version support that resolution? Yesterday I got one black screen, I enable manual control on the fan and set it to always spin even on iddle, 2 hours later still no black screen.

My monitor is 2560x1440. DisplayPort 1.2 is for 4K resolutions (3840x2160)
