Just bought a ASUS EAH4870 DK/HTDI/1GD5 Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready ,
my MOBO is only a GA-EP35-DS3L, i bought the card to replace my REALLY bad EVGA 8600 GT (super bad for games) but apparently this new card is a over kill????
my mobo will not be able to take advantage of the GDDR5? the PCIE-2.0 ?
if this is true, what video card should I buy that will allow my MOBO to take full advantage of the card.
(ps, i don't want to upgrade my mobo for now)
new to forum please help

u got an awesome card and it will work with your board with no problems,HD 4870 is a PCI-E 2.0 card but PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatible with PCI-E 1.0 (Your motherboard) also u will have GDDR5 with no problems.
